Greek Monastery

While Bruce's sister was here (in early March), we took a day trip to the Greek Orthodox Monastery Florence, AZ. It is an amazing oasis in the desert with buildings unlike anything in this part of the country and lush gardens. Men have to wear long sleeves and long pants, and women must wear long skirts, long sleeves and head covering. It was a perfect spring day, and I think Carol and Larry had a good time.
This first picture is of the 4 of us near the entrance to the grounds.

 Here are Bruce and I in the bell tower of the newest building. Looks like we're in Greece, doesn't it?

  1. Interesting. My dad was Greek Orthodox. Might have to make a trip there.
